The most photographed hotel in the world, the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac is the star of the Quebec skyline and easily one of the most photogenic locations I’ve had the recurring fortune of visiting.
Built upon the grounds that once hosted the Chateau Haldimand, at an elevation of more than 170 ft, this historic landmark towers over the picturesque Rue du Petit-Champlain and Saint Lawrence River. Above all, though, it serves to enchant any who lay eyes on beautiful Quebec City before they even have the chance to step through the Porte St. Louis. At the very least, the Beauty and the Beast theme certainly ran through my head immediately after spotting this castle of a hotel. Its grandeur and fairytale-inspired mystique will almost definitely sweep you off your feet and have you quickly lost in daydreams of yourself dancing amongst royalty at a grand ball….or talking to a neurotic moustached clock about your crush on a large hairy fanged possibly rabid kidnapper, whichever suits your fantasy fancy.
