The Notebook Effect is a lifestyle and travel blog documenting exploration of culture, history, and nature in its American base of Boston, MA and other locations around the world. Photographed and written by young traveler and chemical engineer, Brittany Foley, The Notebook Effect pays special attention to food, local experiences, and natural wonders in various places spanning from New England to England’s Jurassic Coast, the streets of Paris to the volcanic hills of Martinique, the beaches of Croatia to the frozen waterfalls of Quebec. The Notebook Effect aims to steer travel away from the rushed visitation of superficially appreciated tourist attractions and to instead inspire thorough investigation and active experience of local cultures in new places, whether they be world-famous landmarks, ancient cities, or simply a town you have yet to visit.
My name is Brittany, and I am so truly delighted to see that you are taking the time to peek and poke around my blog. Allow me to introduce myself a bit: I’m a photo-happy, wanderlust-crazed, born-and-bred Bostonian, self-proclaimed foodie, lipstick lover, and young chemical engineer. In my spare time, I like to photograph and narrate my adventures in Boston, across the pond, and beyond.
